Welcome to the "Litter News Page". Here you will find information on upcoming litters, find out how we raise our pups and care for the mom and will hopefully answer your questions on testing, contracts, deposits and health guarantees.

We are glad you show an interest in our dogs and puppies, but we are also interested in you. It is very important to us where our puppies are placed and we want the best homes for them. We would like all prospective buyers to visit us, our dogs and our puppies, but know that it is not always possible. Therefore, you and I must put our trust in each other to know that we together will make the right decision to make a perfect match with you and your new best friend.

You are encouraged to ask us questions. We will gladly answer any questions you have regarding our experience, breed characteristics, health concerns, health guarantees, etc. We will openly tell you both the "GOOD and the BAD".

As a responsible breeder, I believe that a combination of health, temperament, looks and intelligence is what makes the perfect pet. Improving the breed does not always mean showing or breeding for strictly show quality dogs.

All puppies in the Layla X Kilo litter will be named after famous authors.

Names WILL NOT be changed for any reason whatsoever. If you would like to submit something in line with the theme, you may do so. It must be original. BLEU MOON is to always be first on the papers in naming the puppy. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Seasonal Note:

CHRISTMAS PUPPIES

Two fitting reminders from the American Kennel Club:

  • A Dog Is For Life, Not Just For Christmas
  • Puppies Are Not Stocking Stuffers

Puppies are not gifts; they are not merchandise who, if the fit is wrong, you are free to return. A puppy is a living, breathing creature who, when properly acquired, is destined to become as much a part of the family as the human members.

My Comments on Christmas Puppies:

I will not sell a puppy to anyone as a Christmas present or a surprise for someone. I will not send a puppy off to be a surprise under the tree for someone who may not even want a puppy. I stand firm in my decision. If you are able to find a breeder who will sell you a puppy so you have it on Christmas Eve so that it could appear under the tree on Christmas morning, that should tell you something about the breeder. It should warn you that you would be getting your puppy from someone who does not care where the puppies go and care only for the money.

You would be much better off acquiring your newest family addition from a breeder who cares about their puppies and dogs and wants what is best for them. If your breeder does not insist on this, you are purchasing a puppy from a breeder who does not know or care enough about his "product," to be in that business, and you should acquire your pup from someone else instead.

WHAT IS A BREEDER

A Breeder (with a capital B) is one who thirsts for knowledge and never really knows it all, one who wrestles with decisions of conscience, convenience, and commitment. A Breeder is one who sacrifices personal interests, finances, time, friendships, fancy furniture, and deep pile carpeting! She gives up the dreams of a long, luxurious cruise in favor of turning that all important show into this years "vacation." A Breeder goes without sleep (but never without coffee!) in hours spent planning a breeding or watching anxiously over the birth process, and afterwards, over every little sneeze, wiggle or cry. A Breeder skips dinner parties because that litter is due or the babies have to be fed at eight. A Breeder's lap is a marvelous place where generations of proud and noble champions once snoozed. A Breeder's hands are strong and firm and often soiled, but ever so gentle and sensitive to the thrusts of a puppy's wet nose. A Breeder's back and knees are usually arthritic from stooping, bending, and sitting in the birthing box, but are strong enough to enable the breeder to show the next choice pup to a Championship. A Breeder's shoulders are stooped and often heaped with abuse from competitors, but they're wide enough to support the weight of a thousand defeats and frustrations. A Breeder's arms are always able to wield a mop, support an armful of puppies, or lend a helping hand to a newcomer. A Breeder's ears are wondrous things, sometimes red (from being talked about) or strangely shaped (from being pressed against a phone receiver), often deaf to criticism, yet always fine-tuned to the whimper of a sick puppy.

A Breeder's eyes are blurred from pedigree research and sometimes blind to her own dog's faults, but they are ever so keen to the competitions faults and are always searching for the perfect specimen. A Breeder's brain is foggy on faces, but it can recall pedigrees faster than an IBM computer. It's so full of knowledge that sometimes it blows a fuse: it catalogues thousands of good bonings, fine ears, and perfect heads... and buries in the soul the failures and the ones that didn't turn out. A Breeder's heart is often broken, but it beats strongly with hope everlasting... and it's always in the right place!

Oh, yes, there are breeders, and then, there are BREEDERS!!
